"My time here at AIT has been
well spent; my instructor has
taught me the fundamentals of
driving a tractor trailer. My
instructor has also shown me how
to be professional; the proper
way to act, as well as drive,
including the common courtesies
you must bestow on others on the
road.
I learned to maneuver a 48-foot
trailer better and faster due to
the calm nature of my teacher -
through perseverance and
patience I now know that
mistakes occur, and that there
are simple ways to correct them.
Today on the practice range I
did well, but when I did make an
error in judgment, there was no
yelling, no flailing hands
waving in disgust. There was
simply a question, "What did you
do wrong and what must you do to
fix it?"
I have been given the tools, and
now I must learn to work with
them. I was never fantastic in
school - my grades were C
average (if lucky), but at AIT I
achieved a 96.6% GPA under the
tutelage of my instructor. On my
"Pre-Trip" I earned 100%.
I think what I am trying to say
is that learning at AIT has been
nothing less than enjoyable, and
it has prepared me to find a new
career in which I can prosper.
If I had to do it again I
wouldn't change a thing: my
admissions representative always
believed that my biggest critic
was myself; my teachers showed
me how much they cared through
their determination to have us
absorb as much information as
possible (after all there are
only four weeks in the
accelerated program); and though
you may not always be able to
pick the people you attend class
with, the teachers I had were
the best.
I would like to thank everyone
at AIT for a great learning
experience - everyone has been
great."
